We are delighted with the continuing support afforded by Melksham Town Council for women (and their dependent children) in the area who are re-building lives after experiencing the trauma of domestic abuse. The grant award of £250 is most welcome and will be presented at a special evening planned for 22 October 2014
CRIME chiefs and a domestic violence campaigner have slammed a judge for his leniency
Anthony Bruce, 34, was handed a suspended sentence at Teesside Crown Court by Judge George Moorhouse on Tuesday after admitting assault occasioning actual bodily harm and witness intimidation.

We are excited at the news on devolving engagement and funding aspects of young people’s services to Community Area Boards, as explained by James Fortune (Lead Commissioner) at the recent Children and Families Voluntary Sector Forum.
One year on. More than 3,000 domestic abuse victims helped in Gloucestershire. Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service, an organisation commissioned by the county council, has supported 3002 victims of domestic abuse in one year and is seeing an increase in referrals.
At Splitz Support Service we strongly welcome this proposal by the Home Secretary and consider it to be an excellent move in the right direction to assist people with experience of domestic abuse in all its forms.
We are very grateful to Gina and the staff and members of the Pole Krazee organisation who have made a donation of £586 to Splitz. This money came from the members’ weekly donations and a raffle was held within the members to select the person who would choose the charity to benefit. We are lucky, and very pleased, that the selected person chose us!
Andrew Farrow passed away on 8 July 2014. Our sympathy is with his family and close friends at this time. When we know more we will try to share further information about his funeral.
The White Hart, Atworth quiz night raises £125. Splitz was delighted to be chosen as the beneficiary of a quiz night at The White Hart in Atworth on June 16th. There were eleven teams in total, including two with Splitz staff, and we received £125 for the charity.
Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service ran a stall at the Gay Pride event in Gloucester Park on Saturday in an attempt to inform the L.G.B.T. community that our service is there to support them. It was a great day and the weather was very kind to us ,we had lots of interest in our stall and people wanted to find out more about what we do.
