'Farming Today' BBC Radio 4 is the early morning flagship programme, for the work and people of the farming communities. Today's programme had a comment on 'The Archers' storyline from the Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service (GDASS).

GDASS which is a partnership venture between GreenSquare Group and Splitz Support Service and is the commissioned domestic abuse support service of Gloucestershire County Council.

Listen here to the response by service manager Sally Morrissey (listen from approx. 8 minutes into the recording) as Sally produces the stunning evidence that the incidence of referrals (as a percentage of population) is the same in urban Gloucester City as from the small 'chocolate box' villages/towns of the Cotswolds. Domestic abuse is a horrid crime which crosses all demographics and leaves a tangible break in the life chances of victims (including children who have witnessed it).
